Admission is offered only as per the guidelines issued by the Government and on the basis of merit. Fifty percent of the total seats are filled by Govt. from the rank list prepared by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations in accordance with merit and reservation principles followed by Govt. The remaining 50% seats are filled by the Management of which 35% on merit basis from among the entrance qualified candidates and 15% from te Non-Residential Indian category. Candidates for admission to the B.Tech degree course have to have pass the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or 12th Standard V.H.S.E., C.B.S.E., I.C.S.E., or any examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto obtaining not less than 50% in Mathematics and 50%, in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology put together.

They have also to pass an Entrance Examination, specifically meant for admission to B-Tech course, conducted by the Commission for Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala.

Of the total seats for each branch of B.Tech course, 50% are filled by candidates allotted by the C.E.E. under Govt. quota, 35% by management quota from among those who have qualified in the entrance examination and 15% under the NRI quota, who are not required to have passed the entrance examination. The rates for fees for each category are as fixed by Govt. of Kerala from time to time.
