RIET has well designed hostels, equipped with excellent kitchens and dining halls, separately maintained for male and female students with resident wardens for both hostels; matron for the women’s hostel and  a steward for the men’s hostel. The men’s hostel accomodates 80 boys having four bedded rooms and the girls’ hostel accomodates 46 in four bedded rooms.

Each hostel offers a choice of a/c and non a/c, single or double rooms with single and multiple bed options. Separate mess halls for boys and girls are conveniently set between the two hostels with a common kitchen. Food at the choice of majority of the students is being cooked and served so that the students do not need to depend on outside hotels.

Hostel Rules

  1. Students will gain entry to the hostel only on producing a valid ID card.
  2. No one will be allowed to enter the hostel or campus in an inebriated condition.
  3. Alcohol testers/breath analysers will be used at the main gate in cases of doubt.
  4. Drinking and smoking are strictly prohibited in the hostels.
  5. Carrying and/or keeping of lethal weapons like guns, revolver, knives etc in the hostel is prohibited.
  6. Electrical gadgets including heaters, electric rods, iron, radio or tape-recorder are not allowed to be used in the hostels.
  7. Allotment of hostel rooms is made on the basis of merit of the previous semester.
  8. Cooking is not allowed in the rooms.
  9. Students shall be responsible for the college property issued or provided in the hostel. Damage of any hostel property shall be recovered from the student concerned.
  10. Guests are not permitted to reside in the hostel without the prior permission of the warden.
  11. Principal/Chief Warden and Warden can inspect any room at any time.
  12. Entry to the hostel will not be allowed after 7.00pm in the case of men’s hostels. The timings for women’s hostels will be notified by the Chief Warden in consultation with the Principal.
  13. A roll call will be taken daily within 15 minutes of closing time
  14. Absence from the hostel for a whole night without prior permission from the hostel warden is considered an act of serious misconduct and carries severe punishment.
  15. Meetings, seminars or gatherings are not permitted in the hostels without obtaining permission from the warden.
  16. Male and female boarders must dine in their respective messes.
  17. The boarders are allowed to leave the hostel on holiday only after submitting a written request to the hostel warden and obtaining his/her permission
  18. Ragging of any sort will not be tolerated anywhere within the college premises, including the hostels.
  19. Any kind of indiscipline, including fighting in the hostel or college premises will be considered as a punishable offence.
  20. Moving of hostel property (bed, chairs etc.) from rooms is not allowed.
  21. The mess committee must be informed at least 24 hours in advance if a resident/boarder does not want to take meal(s).
  22. Students can apply for hostel accommodation only in the month of August in any academic year. Changes will not be considered following this for the remainder of that academic year except for the students who go out for six months industrial training.
  23. Students are allowed to keep a PC in their hostel room only after obtaining permission from the Hostel Warden/Chief Warden.
  24. Students are required to attend the hostel mess and common room appropriately attired.
  25. It is at the discretion of the Chief Warden to allot/not to allot a room/ accommodation to a student on the basis of his previous record in the hostel/college.
  26. The boarders, who wish to keep their cars on college premises, must register their vehicle with the college administration. These vehicles can only be parked at the designated parking spaces in the college car park.
