Infrastructure: A built-up area of 200 sq. mtr. for each research & development lab, setting apart 40 sq.mtr. each for all the 6 Engineering branches. In addition, there are independent cabins for the research guides (5 numbers of rooms) and common facilities for the researchers. As a policy, there shall be only 6 candidates in each Dept/Discipline to undertake research work under one guide and therefore the common seating facility will be for about 30 researchers in one room of 40 sq. mtr area. Thus the main infrastructure will be comprise of 5 labs of 40 sq. mtr each, 5 rooms of 15 sq. mtr each, and one room of 40 sq. mtr. Apart from this there shall be one class room of 40 sq. mtr equipped with OHP/LCD projectors, seating arrangem, ents, screen for projection of LCD or film, small class room board, P A system blinds for windows for facilitating screening of films. There shall be a mini library exclusively for the R& D Centre for keeping reprints, bound volumes, journals of repute, and very important text and reference book for each discipline of research work. A common instrument/ equipment lab will provide facility to all the disciplines for undertaking experiments in specialized field of study.
Other Facilities: With the above- mentioned infrastructure as the basic facility, additional facility in terms of power supply, water supply, compressed air (purified and filtered instrument air with pressure of 1.5 kg(cm2),will be made available in each of the 5 laboratories as well as the common lab. The facilities available in the respective D.C. labs of each discipline will be accessible to the researchers at any time for their work.
Funding:- The funding will be mainly from the Trust under which the institute has been established, namely, Indira Charitable Trust. However, avenues for research funding from National Bodies for Research and Development such as uec, CSIR, DST, etc as well as from Private research organizations such as CSI, TCS, L&T Research Centre etc will also be explored. The candidates will be allowed to apply for and avail of stipendiary remuneration from the central bodies, till completion of their full time research work.
