INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION 2017

The part played by women in sustaining this world is so incredible that no amount of appreciation is enough. International Woman’s Day is celebrated to give back the respect and love that she deserves. As a day to praise her for all the things she does every second to sustain us. ‘Dheera’ is part of this celebration hosted by the female students of civil engineering department of RIET, to spread the strength of womanhood.

Dheera for the year 2017 was conducted on 17th March. Dheera 2k17 was honored by the presence of Mrs. Sreekala IPS who gave a great speech about what it means to be a woman, the strength each of them carries with her. Apart from having an inspiring speech there were many other wonderful programs organized by the students. One of the highlights was a role play of the life of the incredible Helen Keller who overcame all her disabilities to rise to become a strong woman representation, done by the 3rd year students. There was also notable speech by Prof. Joisy M B, HOD of civil department, Dr. K Balan (Vice principal and Dean of Research & PG, RIET), Dr. R Sathikumar (principal RIET), Smt. Indulekha (student counselor, RIET). A Miss. Dheera competition along with a charity work was also done.The function was ended with vote of thanks.
