The National Service Scheme (NSS) coming under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India was launched on 24th September 1969, the birth centaury of the Father of our Nation. It’s primary aim is personality development through social service. The NSS motto is “Not me Not you, But we”. The NSS unit of RIET consists of 103 volunteers who are willing to work together for upliftment of the society; they are supported by faculties and other supporting staff from various departments. NSS activities are conducted under the guidance Mr. Mohan S, Programme Officer Mr Jinu Raj R and Mrs Renjini A, Volunteer Secretaries The NSS unit of our college has taken initiative to form the Red Ribbon Club (RRC) in our campus. The club aims at reducing HIV infections among youth through proper sex education, equipping them with correct information on HIV/AIDS prevention, case and support and treatment. The ultimate focus of the unit in our campus is to make the youth aware of the risk factors of this disease and prepare them as peer educators n spreading the messages of positive health behavior in a permissive society
